Overview of the French Revolution
The French Revolution was similar to the American Revolution, overseas, but it also differed in that the American Revolution gave the upper class-men the freedoms and called it "freedom for all," whereas the French Revolution was fought from the poorer class of men, also known as the third estate. During the time of the French Revolution, there were three classes, or estates, in France: the first estate, the second estate, and the third estate. To give a brief background on the three estates, the first was made up of the officials of the Catholic church, the second estate was made of the noblemen, and the third made up the poorer working class of France. The problem with the estate system is that the people of the Third estate would be effected if the food prices were driven up and would struggle to survive.
